From humble beginnings in 2008 starting with a little boat and 6 fishing rods Blue Water Charters has grown to be one of the leading Charter operators in the Durban area, being popular not only with the locals, but with guests from around the country and the globe, with more than 10yrs of operation, over 1000 trips and more than 6000 guests aboard our vessels we are dedicated to delivering consistently good service.
Blue Water Charters is a full-time owner-run operation, it is what we do and Mike is 100% dedicated to running this operation.

We do not share our bookings or makeup groups, which means that you, the angler get to do exactly what you want along with personal assistance and guiding. On Fat Girl we are licensed for 10 passengers and 2 crew, our fishing trips are limited to 8 passengers and Nawty Girl takes 4 passengers and a skipper.
We are not the cheapest, our aim is to give you the angler a comfortable, quality fishing experience which offers good value for money on a well equipped and comfortable boat.

Although we mostly get fish on our bookings and sometimes some nice big ones and sometimes lots of fish, there is no guarantee of fish, our best efforts are assured at all times. Otherwise, we would call it catching and not fishing, the variables are too many.

Our 10.4m Sport Fisher boat powered by 2 x Yamaha 250Hp motors and fully rigged for Marlin and Game fishing complete with fighting chair. She is a sturdy boat for long days out at sea hunting those big fish and comfortable for a relaxing fun day out at sea for the family or group, for those who do not want to fish the foredeck offers a great platform for sun tanning, there is seating on the flybridge where one can really take in the view and observe the nature around, watch the birds, sometimes we see Dolphins that swim by the boat and even Whales can be seen in the distance. Or if you like you can just chill in the lounge area or even take a nap whilst the others are fishing.

Nawty Girl

Our smaller Boat “Nawty Girl” is a 5.8m (19ft) Catamaran powered by 2 x Mercury 90Hp outboard motors and ideal for smaller groups, she is quick and gives a comfortable ride. Nawty Girl is rigged for Game Fishing complete with fighting chair. The boat is well equipped with tackle for game and bottom fishing, along with good GPS/Fishfinder electronics. Nawty Girl has a skipper and can carry 4 passengers.
