Chaos Karts: Real-Life Mario Kart in Dubai!
If you use social media in the UAE, chances are you’ve come across the hype around Chaos Karts. We even ran our pre-launch competition with a gift card to use at their venue — but until recently, I hadn’t actually been myself.
Over the Eid break, a friend and I finally checked it out and… it was AWESOME.
First Impressions
I love karting. The speed, the freedom, the thrill of throwing a kart around a track — it’s right up there with my idea of a perfect day out. So I was buzzing to finally get behind the wheel and let loose for a few laps.
The venue itself is tucked away in the industrial area of Dubai. But if you’ve been to any other experience spots that need big spaces (like Bounce), this won’t surprise you. And, this being the UAE, you know you’re safe.
What did surprise me was the entrance walkway — the team has done a fantastic job of creating a digital-funland vibe that immediately immerses you. Bonus shoutout to the staff, too: we turned up 30 minutes late (thank you, faulty memory), and they still slotted us in with no issues. Legends.
Briefing & Safety
We chilled in the café area before getting called in for the safety briefing. The video was clear — though, remembering all the different in-game effects was a bit of a challenge. Luckily, once the racing starts, you figure it out on the go.
Walking into the track area for the first time? Genuinely jaw-dropping. The graphics are wild.
One thing did catch me off guard though — we weren’t given helmets. As someone who used to write and review risk assessments for a living, safety is high on my radar. But once I saw the track layout and felt the kart’s speed, it made sense. It’s not your usual petrol kart — the focus is on the experience, not raw speed.
So What Is Chaos Karts?
Think real-life Mario Kart. You’ve got power-ups to boost yourself or sabotage your mates, buttons on the steering wheel, and a digital track that transforms around you as you race. It’s like Mario Kart meets Ready Player One, with a splash of The Matrix for the way the environment constantly changes. Epic!
Every few minutes, the track scenery morphs into something new. While the route itself sometimes stays the same, the visuals and effects keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.
Sure, the karts are slower than traditional petrol go-karts — but honestly, you’re having so much fun with the power-ups and changing visuals that you barely notice.
Who’s It For?
Chaos Karts is a perfect day out for:
- Families
- Groups of friends
- Double dates
- Birthday parties
- Team socials.
It’s competitive but friendly. The power-ups level the playing field, so it’s not all about speed — meaning everyone can get involved, no matter their experience level.
There are also other games on-site and a café for those who are waiting (or just spectating). Honestly, I’d go back just for the sheer fun of it.
Final Thoughts
This place absolutely delivers on its promise: immersive, exciting, totally different from your usual day out in Dubai. If you’re looking for something more than another brunch, this is your sign.
